FAQ

What 3D file formats does AtlasAR support?

AtlasAR supports .GLB and .GLTF files for 3D viewing on Android, desktop, and web browsers. For iOS AR (Apple Quick Look), upload .USDZ files. These are the industry-standard formats for web-based 3D and augmented reality experiences.

Do my customers need to install an app to use AR?

No. AtlasAR uses browser-based AR. Android devices use Google Scene Viewer and iOS devices use Apple Quick Look. Customers tap “View in AR” and the experience launches instantly in their mobile browser — no app downloads required.

Is there a limit on how many 3D models I can upload?

No. The free version supports unlimited .GLB/.GLTF/.USDZ model uploads with no file size or quantity restrictions. This is a major advantage over competing plugins that limit free users to just 1–5 models.

Does AtlasAR work with WooCommerce?

Yes. AtlasAR has deep, native WooCommerce integration. It adds a dedicated AtlasAR tab in the WooCommerce product editor, automatically places “View in AR” buttons on product pages, and supports both simple and variable products with per-variation 3D models. Compatible with WooCommerce 3.0 and above.

Can I use AtlasAR with Elementor?

Yes. Use the [atlas_ar] shortcode inside any Elementor text widget, shortcode widget, or HTML widget. The 3D viewer renders wherever you place the shortcode. AtlasAR also works with WPBakery, Divi, Beaver Builder, and any page builder that supports WordPress shortcodes.

Does AtlasAR have a Gutenberg block?

Yes. AtlasAR includes a native Gutenberg block. In the WordPress block editor, search for “AtlasAR” to insert the 3D viewer block directly into your page or post content.

Can I display 3D models on custom post types?

Yes. By default, AtlasAR is enabled for the post post type. Go to AtlasAR Settings > “Enable AR For Post Types” and change it to any custom post type such as product, portfolio, project, or your own custom post type.

How does the AI 3D model generation work?

AtlasAR integrates with the Tripo3D API to generate 3D models from text descriptions. Get a free API key from Tripo3D, paste it in the AtlasAR Integration settings, then type a product description and click “Generate Model.” The AI creates a .GLB file you can preview and save directly to your product or post.

Will loading 3D models slow down my website?

No. AtlasAR loads 3D models asynchronously and uses lazy loading (Intersection Observer) on archive and shop pages. Models typically load in 0.3–0.7 seconds on a stable connection without impacting your page speed scores. Pro users can compress models by up to 70% for even faster loading.

Is AtlasAR compatible with my WordPress theme?

Yes. AtlasAR works with all standard WordPress and WooCommerce themes including Storefront, Flatsome, Astra, OceanWP, and GeneratePress, among many others. If your theme supports WooCommerce, AtlasAR will integrate seamlessly with your product pages.

How does AR work on iPhone and iOS devices?

When a customer taps “View in AR” on an iPhone or iPad (iOS 12+), AtlasAR launches Apple Quick Look using the .USDZ file. The customer can place the product on a real surface (floor or wall) through their device camera and see it at real-world scale — all natively in Safari with no app needed.

How does AR work on Android devices?

On Android 9+ devices with ARCore support, tapping “View in AR” launches Google Scene Viewer. Customers point their camera at a surface and the 3D model appears at real-world scale. The experience runs directly in the Chrome browser with no app download required.

What is included in the Free version vs the Pro version?

Free version includes: unlimited 3D model uploads, full iOS + Android AR support, native WooCommerce integration, QR codes, Gutenberg block, shortcode, Tripo3D AI model generation, per-variation preview, auto-rotate, skybox and environment images, custom CSS, and dark/light mode dashboard.

Pro version adds: product dimensions display in AR, interactive hotspots, product configurators/sliders, automatic GLB/GLTF compression (Draco + Basis Universal), per-variation 3D models for WooCommerce, and upcoming features including analytics, bulk compression, and virtual try-on.

Can I try Pro features before committing?

Yes. All Pro plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the Pro features, request a full refund within 14 days of purchase — no questions asked.

What happens if my Pro subscription expires?

Pro features (dimensions, hotspots, compression, configurators) will be disabled, but your site continues working with all the free features. Any previously compressed models will continue to work. You can renew anytime to restore Pro features.

Can I use AtlasAR Pro on multiple websites?

Yes. The Professional plan ($99/year) covers up to 3 sites, and the Business plan ($199/year) covers up to 10 sites. See all plans.

Does AtlasAR work with the Flatsome theme?

Yes. AtlasAR is fully compatible with the Flatsome WooCommerce theme. The 3D viewer integrates with the WooCommerce product gallery hook, so any theme that follows WooCommerce standards — including Flatsome, Astra, Storefront, OceanWP, and GeneratePress — will work correctly.

How does the QR code feature work?

Enable QR codes in AtlasAR settings. When desktop visitors view a product with a 3D model, a QR code is displayed that they can scan with their phone to instantly launch the AR experience on their mobile device.

Can I generate 3D models without 3D modeling software?

Yes. AtlasAR’s Tripo3D integration lets you generate 3D models from simple text descriptions. No Blender, SketchUp, or other 3D software is needed. Describe the product, click generate, preview the result, and save the model — all within the WordPress editor.

Does AtlasAR support WooCommerce variable products?

Yes. AtlasAR fully supports WooCommerce variable products. You can upload different 3D models for each product variation (e.g., different colors or sizes) and the viewer automatically switches models when customers select a variation.

Nice feature that works as intended and shows the 3D models. Had some issues with iOS, but seemed to be more iOS related than plugin related. Super fast and helpful support!
