designed with privacy in mind.

BimBeau Privacy Analytics stores your analytics data in your own WordPress database. No third-party analytics account is required, and your reports are available directly from the WordPress dashboard.

Simple to install, easy to understand, and built for website owners who want useful analytics without depending on a traditional external analytics platform.

See what matters at a glance

BimBeau Privacy Analytics gives you the insights you need to understand how people find and use your website:

Visits, page views, and recent activity.

Active visitors in real time.

Top pages and content performance.

Traffic sources, referrers, campaigns, and acquisition channels.

Devices, browsers, operating systems, and screen sizes.

Country-level geolocation.

Internal searches.

404 errors and missing pages.

Visitor activity and engagement insights.

Everything is presented inside a clean WordPress interface, so you can understand your traffic without leaving your site.

Included in the Free plugin

BimBeau Privacy Analytics on WordPress.org is the complete Free plugin.

Its Free analytics features work without a license, payment, quota, or time limit. No third-party analytics account is required.

The Free plugin also includes configurable data retention, role exclusions, optional Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control handling, privacy settings, country-level geolocation, and real-time analytics.

A separate Pro edition is available from the author outside WordPress.org and replaces the Free plugin when installed.

Privacy and consent

BimBeau Privacy Analytics is designed around privacy-conscious analytics workflows.

Two levels of measurement are available:

Essential statistics use the base tracker and are intended for situations where consent exemption applies.

Advanced statistics use an enriched tracker that may require prior consent depending on local rules and your website configuration.

For consent-based setups, configure your consent management platform (CMP) to block
bbpa-advanced-tracker
/
assets/js/bbpa-advanced-tracker.js
before consent and release it only after the visitor accepts the Analytics / Statistics category.

BimBeau Privacy Analytics does not provide a consent banner, decide whether consent has been granted, or store consent records.

The plugin does not use tracking cookies or cross-site advertising identifiers. Essential tracking may use a temporary first-party browser storage identifier to group activity, prevent technical duplicate hits, and produce aggregated or anonymized audience statistics. It is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or visitor profiling.

BimBeau Privacy Analytics does not make a website GDPR-compliant by itself. Site owners remain responsible for their legal basis, privacy policy, consent configuration, and applicable legal requirements.

Pro edition

BimBeau Privacy Analytics Pro is a separate edition for users who want to go further with their analytics.

Depending on the active license, site configuration, consent setup, and available analytics data, Pro can add:

Analytics exports for supported reports.

Page Details for deeper page-level analysis.

City geolocation reports and interactive map markers.

Custom event tracking and event configuration.

Conversion funnels that show where visitors drop off between your events.

WooCommerce order attribution, revenue per acquisition channel and a ready-made purchase funnel.

Daily, weekly or monthly email summaries.

Content analytics directly inside WordPress content lists and the editor.

An installable Stats App for desktop and mobile.

Panel visibility customization for the analytics navigation.

Additional detailed reports and analysis tools.

Learn more about Pro:

Pro version overview

Pro pricing

The WordPress.org Free package remains fully usable without the Pro edition.

External services

The core analytics reports use data stored in your WordPress installation. A small number of optional or account-related features can contact external services when they are explicitly configured or used.

BimBeau GeoIP Database Service — Used to download the optional local database for country-level geolocation. Automatic database downloads are disabled by default. A request is made only after an administrator manually requests a download/update or later enables automatic updates. The service can receive the WordPress server IP address and a technical User-Agent; visitor IP addresses are not sent to BimBeau for local GeoIP lookups.

BimBeau GeoIP Database Service
BimBeau Terms of Use
BimBeau Privacy Policy

Referrer favicons — When this optional feature is enabled, the WordPress server may contact a referring website to retrieve its icon. The administrator browser uses the locally stored copy rather than requesting the icon directly from the referring website.

MaxMind — MaxMind API mode is optional and remains disabled until an administrator selects it and provides their own MaxMind credentials. When configured, MaxMind receives the IP address being resolved. The local GeoIP database mode does not use the MaxMind API.

MaxMind GeoLite EULA
MaxMind privacy policy

Freemius — The plugin can use Freemius for account, licensing, pricing, upgrade, support, uninstall, and package-related functionality. Hovering a country darkens its color, and the map Reset button sits to the left of the zoom buttons.
[Feature] The Devices report compares each browser, operating system, device and screen share with the previous period of the same length, in percentage points.
[Feature] The Authors report shows each author with an avatar and the role of the author on a second line. The avatar follows the Show avatars setting of WordPress (Settings > Discussion): the WordPress avatar of the author when it is on, the initials otherwise or when the author has no avatar. Both can be hidden from the view options.
[Improvement] Browser, operating system and screen shares keep one decimal so that they add up to 100%, page views without these details are shown apart as "Not identified", and each card states how many page views its shares are based on. Bars are thinner, with the percentage aligned on the right.
[Improvement] Screen widths are named (Mobile, Tablet, Laptop, Large screen) and get the icon of their device; the operating systems card is titled "Operating systems", and the Devices report no longer offers the "Include robots" switch.
[Improvement] Lists shown in a card carry their title on the same row as the search, filters, view options and export buttons, which removes a row and its margins above each list.
[Improvement] Every icon button of the plugin pages has the same look: a thin gray outline at rest, a light gray fill with a black outline on hover or while its menu is open, and a black ring on keyboard focus (list toolbars and pagination, map zoom and full screen, window and notice close buttons, calendar and period arrows). Key figure, list and notice icons stay gray and black.
[Improvement] "New", information and privacy mode badges are gray; success, warning and error badges keep their colors.
[Changed] The real-time visitors button has the same height as the period filter and stays visible on phones, as a compact count; the Real-time card is removed from the dashboard KPIs.
[Changed] The admin header shows the name of the current screen (Dashboard, Pages…) instead of "Statistics".
[Fix] The statistics screens keep their own colors whatever admin color scheme is selected in the user profile (or set by an admin theme plugin): buttons, bars and charts no longer turn black, red or brown.
[Fix] The "New" badge of the report lists has the same width as the changes, so it no longer touches the visit count in narrow cards.
[Fix] The ascending and descending arrows of the list view options are smaller, in line with the other options.
[Fix] List pagination uses single chevrons, grayed out when there is no previous or next page.
[Fix] Admin notices have an even outline again, and informational notices are blue instead of yellow.

8.68.6

Core — Report lists now display the change against the previous period and the daily trend in dedicated columns, with numbers aligned to the end in the main text color.
Core — Changes of 1,000% or more now use a compact format (e.g., +2.5k%), and hovering over a change reveals the previous value and the difference.
Core — The compared period is now named under the lists, trend lines share one scale, the Share bar of the largest row fills its track (including in Acquisition), and the average time on page is displayed as minutes and seconds (e.g., 1:06).
Core — In title display, the page address is now shown under the title, and the filter and view options buttons now use filled icons.
Fixes — Fixed an issue where a row without a value in the previous period read "New" instead of "+100%", and corrected the change display for rows missing from a longer previous list.

8.68.5

[Docs] WordPress.org screenshots refreshed with the current interface: dashboard, reports and settings.
[Fix] The referrers list of the dashboard counts visits instead of page views, like the Referrers report.
[Fix] The Direct row of report lists shows its trend against the previous period instead of a constant +100 %.
[Feature] The
/referrers
REST route accepts
count_visits=true
to return the visits of each referrer.
[Fix] The setup wizard keeps the choices already made when it is closed with "Finish later" and resumed.
[Fix] The two buttons of the "Continue without geolocation?" confirmation are no longer stuck together.
[Fix] The Devices report counts every visitor of the range instead of the 500 most recent ones.
[Feature] New REST route
GET /visitors/breakdowns
with the browser, operating system, device and resolution totals of the visitors.
[Fix] The visitor identifier column of the Visitors and Realtime lists has a shorter title ("Visitor ID").
[Fix] Lists whose filters are always displayed no longer show a disabled filter button.

8.66.1

[Feature] Pages report: new Content types, Categories and Authors tabs, with each group's page views, share of the page views, number of contents viewed, comparison with the previous period, daily trend and, with advanced statistics, the average time on page.
[Feature] Pages report: the Top pages and Entry pages lists show the share of each page, with a bar and a percentage of the page views or entries of the period.
[Feature] Add the
GET /bbpa/v1/top-content
report route, which groups page views by post type, category or author.
[Feature] Visitors report: new Humans and Robots tabs. The Robots tab lists the crawlers and other automated visits that are excluded from all statistics, names each robot (Googlebot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot…) from its browser signature without keeping the signature itself, and shows their connection time, last activity, page views, entry page and device.
[Feature] Visitors report: new "Hide private visitors" switch on the Humans tab, saved for your account, to list only visitors with advanced (consented) data; the item count shows how many private visitors are hidden.
[Feature] Dashboard: the help of the Visitors card says that visitors are humans only and how many robots were excluded in the selected period.
[Feature] Devices report: new "Include robots" switch on the Device usage breakdown card, to compare robot page views with desktop, smartphone and tablet traffic; every other card and report stays human-only.
[Feature] Settings → General → Role access has a new Account group: administrators can let selected roles (editor level or above) open the Account page in read-only mode. Billing details stay hidden for these roles, and only administrators can change the account or this group. No role has this access by default.
[Feature] Lists: every report list (Pages, Referring sites, Acquisition channels, Search terms, Geolocation countries, Visitors, Real-time active visitors, dashboard and page details lists) uses the WordPress list component: search at the top, filters shown as removable chips, column header sorting, View options for density (compact, balanced or comfortable), 5 to 100 items per page and the columns shown, then WordPress pagination under the list. The density and columns you choose are kept for your account.
[Change] Pages report: the URL and Title display becomes two columns that can be shown together or alone; the tabs sit in a single Pages card.
[Change] Page details: the header shows the page title with its address under it.
[Change] Admin header: shows the "Statistics" title in the site language instead of the logo, and the interface branding option is removed from the settings.
[Change] Lists: numbers aligned under their column header, with thousands separators and trends written as "+14 %"; the first column in dark text, longer share bars, a grey search field.
[Change] Settings: compact "Save settings" button, status badges in the WordPress style and smaller section titles; secondary buttons use blue text.
[Fix] Real-time map markers pulse again, with a size and opacity weighted by activity; the animation stays off when the system asks for reduced motion.
[Fix] Show the correct device icon instead of a question mark when the admin language translates device names, and label bot visitors "Bot" in device breakdowns.
[Fix] Return the post ID of each Top pages row, so the page details screen can link to the post in WordPress.
[Fix] WordPress dashboard widget: shows the same human visitors as the Visitors card of the plugin dashboard, followed by the number of robots excluded in the period, instead of the number of visits.
[Fix] Period picker: the active quick range keeps its blue look when focused, without the dark WordPress focus ring.
[Fix] Geolocation and page details: the search field of the countries list finds a country by its name or its two-letter code, with or without accents.
[Fix] REST API: requests authenticated with a WordPress application password can read the reports and use the settings routes, as the WordPress API allows.
[Fix] Pages: titles with an apostrophe or an ampersand display as written, without codes such as ’.
[Fix] Header: the Statistics title stays dark instead of turning blue, and still opens the dashboard.
[Fix] Settings: the data icons of the Tracking and privacy tab are back to their small size instead of filling their pill.
[Fix] Translations: on English sites, 47 admin labels and messages showed another sentence (for example the Entry channel column of the Visitors list was named "Entry pages"). They show their own text again.

8.47.3

[Improvement] Improve referrer favicon discovery, loading feedback and compatibility while preserving SSRF and SVG security
